About

Who we are

Filling the Gap hosts events that fill the knowledge gaps that stand in the way of living the life we want to lead. Our vision is to make important and relevant skills accessible to all.

While each event will cover a different topic and have different learning outcomes, our core pillars remain the same:

  • Education: attendees will walk away from each event having learned something valuable and applicable to their own lives

  • Engagement: attendees will be active participants in events through workshops, discussions, and networking

  • Equity: attendees will hear from a variety of voices that reflect and support the communities we are from

Filling the Gap has raised over $100,000 CAD since 2015.

The organization donates all of their proceeds to local charities such as the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic, which offers trauma-informed legal services and representation, counselling and multilingual interpretation, and drives system transformation to support women and gender-diverse people who have experienced violence.

If you’re interested in getting involved or sponsoring an event, please contact us.

Past Events

“What I like most about Filling the Gap is its ability to inspire people and motivate them to take action. Those that attend the event come with an open mind and a mentality to learn and be vulnerable. It is gratifying to learn from the speakers, founders, as well as attendees.”

“Filling The Gap does a fantastic job of putting together an enjoyable night filled with incredible speakers and workshops. Events that I've attended have been organized, effective and fun. While supporting an amazing cause, FTG is a great opportunity for people to reflect on compelling stories and experience a collective dedication to becoming better leaders, learners, and professionals.”
